"Find the confidence within you that you can do it. Be positive. Tell yourself, 'Yes, I can do this. I CAN do it.' In the end, the outcome will be what you want."
- Roxana Martinez
Roxana Martinez seeks guidance from God through meditation and prayer when she faces fear of the unknown.
Her supportive husband of 15 years, Jose, provides words of encouragement - "You're smart. You can overcome your fear. You can do it." -when she faces fear about a job promotion.
When Proscape offered her the current position she holds, the 40-year old office manager expressed some reservations about her professional abilities beyond clerical work. The uncertainties about management's expectations and self-expectations made her wonder.

"Patience is my personal strength." |
"Little by little I overcame my fear," she smiles with confidence, then boasts with humility, "I can do my job with my eyes closed. I give my all when it comes to work. Whatever tasks I'm given, I make certain that I go outside the box when looking for solutions. I give 110 percent."
As a caring and patient mother, Roxana gives her two children much more than 110. She teaches Alex, 14, and Emma, 6, the importance of gratitude and encourages them to think positive and have positive people in their lives.
Despite the challenges of dealing with 'everyday changes with children,' she states, "Being a mom is something I've always wanted. I want to do right, and I believe I have done right by my kids, although there have been times when I could have done or said some things differently."
In her strong and determined mind, Roxana's family will overcome another challenge known by far too many families across the nation - struggling to make ends meet. Roxana and Jose combine her paycheck and his unemployment check to keep a roof over their heads, buy food and other necessities of life - things their children should be grateful for.
This couple works together as a team to make their family life comfortable and productive for the future. While Roxana works full-time, Jose takes care of household chores, cooks and attends Everest University, where he majors in software engineering. He's grateful that his wife supports and motivates him. "She's investing in me," he laughs. Roxana feels lucky to have a caring and devoted husband who motivates her to succeed.
There are no challenging moments too daunting that will break the strong mind and spirit of this wife, mother and woman of virtue. She knows that a woman who possesses a strong mind and an important virtue will prevail.
"It's going to take some patience and time to get there [accomplishing goals], but it will happen," promises Roxana Martinez, a woman who intelligently blocks negative thoughts from directing her pathway to personal and professional success. One goal she plans to accomplish this year is purchasing a home for Alex and Emma.
WHAT'S COMING UP IN MAY
Ladies, one woman's personal journey on moving in the right direction toward setting higher standards and reaching goals will captivate you.
Sixty-something-year-old Dr. Patricia "Penny" Waters shares her often sad yet thought-provoking story with unbridled honesty. It's a quite interesting, though not particularly unusual, story about decades old feelings of insecurity and low self-esteem.
